[B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G N-E-W-S] - 7 suspected crude oil thieves arrested in Delta State




Nigerian Civil Defense and Security Corps, NCDSC, in Delta State, yesterday captured seven suspected oil pipeline vandals while stealing  66,000 liters of raw petroleum and moving it to neighboring Anambra State.

The suspects, who were captured along Kwale-Nssukwa street by the Anti-Vandal Squad of the Corps, are Muhammadu Abdulkareem, Ifeanyi Agbo, Augustine Asemota, Endurance Mordi, Ajulo Sunday, Ifeanyi Illoh and Chiemer Ikechukwu. The State Commander of the NCDSC, Mrs Beatrice Irabor, who paraded the suspects in Asaba, the state capital, told newsmen that the suspects were caught while transporting the item in trucks with enrollment numbers, Delta LEH 206 XA, Delta 325 SKL and Edo Auc 62 XA.

Irabor said one of the trucks, driven by Muhammadu Abdulkareem and helped by Ifeanyi Agbo, contained 33,000 liters of stolen raw petroleum.

She said, "The other holder trucks had 33,000 liters. They were captured early toward the beginning of today (yesterday)at around 3am by our Anti-Vandals Squad while passing on the illicit item to Onitsha in Anambra state."

In the mean time, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr Usman Baba, has dispatched Safer Highways Patrol Teams right now the charge's push to fortify security on the roadways.
