Supporters of the Director of Radio Biafra, Mr. Nnamdi Kanu were on Tuesday arrested by the Anambra State police charge at different parts in Awka as they dissented the arrest of Mr. Kanu.
The protesters, including ladies, conveyed bulletins with different engravings, walked from Amawbia to the Government House, requesting that Kanu be allowed to be freed.

Be that as it may, as they drew nearer Government House, the police men positioned at the spot terminated into the air and tossed teargas canisters to scatter the crowd.
Another gathering protesters at the Arroma intersection was also arrested by the police.
Anambra State organizer of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mr. Ikechukwu Okoye said their dissent was not intended to bring on any inconvenience, including that they were just the boulevards to request that DSS discharge Kanu.
As indicated by him, the protesters were walking to the Government House to beg Anambra State senator, Chief Willie Obiano to win on President Muhammadu Buhari to mediate on the matter.
He said: “We are only agitators who obey the laws of the land. This is democracy and there is freedom of speech and freedom of movement.
“Why would anybody detain our leader and in the process be demanding bail fee of N2million. We have not come to fight anybody because we are peace makers”
Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Hosea Karma, affirmed the arrested of the protestors, saying it was on the grounds that they were parading along the Enugu-Onitsha turnpike consequently bringing about break of peace.

“There is nothing like Indigenous People of Biafra. Those people constituted nuisance on the high way and that was why they were picked.
“Right now, I do not know the number of people that were picked, but I want to assure the people that anybody who disturbs the peace that exists in this state will not go unpunished.”
Although,the factional leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has loaned support to the Radio Biafra executive.
